Even large software companies never release perfect code, but the good thing is that one is always able to make patches. For some reasons, a simple “.” just vanished in the upgrade function which made the video player disappear from the content of old posts. This is the reason behind missing video noticed by those who recently upgraded TubePress.
Luckily, the excerpt part was working fine which I used to make this patch.
The new patch function that I included in the last update will account for this problem, restores the video player to the content and update the old post.
Thanks for all of those who are helping in the debug and the testing of this plugin especially Mark and Alin.

and about the duplicate video ids still doesn’t work

and in this latest version on tubepress main page, on admin area, the tubepress main page remains blank. the page where you have to select the player weigh high.. color .. etc. i tryed on other wp sites.. same problem

it isn’t there another way to put the video description for the older posts? as you see i use the excerpt only for player to share the embed code like that i can gain some inbound links

Alin, I see that you applied the patch several times. By the way, after some thought, I removed the patch since the upgrade function is working fine.
In your case, I think we need to look at it as a special case.
Are there too many posts in your site? If you cannot fix them manually, I could make a fix for you to remove these duplicate videos in the same post that you got.
If it’s just a test site, then I suggest that you delete these posts and import them again.

well what can i say.. there are some posts but is not a problem removeing them, it would be great if you fix the duplicate thing. i told you it doesn’t check for duplicate entires in database. let me know if you resolve it

Darn it, I commented about this problem and never heard back so had to remove all my posts. Wish there was notification on the plugin that there are updates available. I just came back cause now I am having other problems. Not sure where to get the update. PS, the plugin doesnt show up in my list of plugins even though it is active.
